Lorena Ceamanos Fiances

PhD student

Bio: I am an Industrial Designer specializing in additive manufacturing and smart materials, continuously seeking new challenges and opportunities for growth in this dynamic field. My journey into the field of 3D printing for healthcare products began in 2016 and in 2018, I embarked on a role as a research technician, focusing on the design and prototyping of microfluidic devices. Currently, as a Ph.D. candidate in my fourth year, I am actively exploring the manufacturing technique of 4D printing using photosensitive polymers in the Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory (AML, CSIC). At the end of the day, my main goal is to use my skills and knowledge to make ideas come to life.

Hobbies: In my free time, I love diving into different hobbies. One of my go-to activities is exploring captivating books but I’m also a big fan of movies. Additionally, I find great joy in graphic design, where I can unleash my artistic side and create visually appealing designs.

Research Interests: 3D printing, 4D printing, liquid crystals, soft robotics, microfluidics.
